    Can I use the National Geographic App on multiple devices?

    You can use your login to sign in to the National Geographic App on up to two devices at the same time. If you attempt to sign in on a third device, the first device will be logged out and show the message “Your Eligibility Could Not Be Verified. Please log in again”.

    If your household has multiple eligible mobile phone services, each service will have its own login available to use on up to two devices at a time.

    How do I watch the National Geographic App on another device?

    You can use the National Geographic App on up to two devices at a time.

    If you use your Optus My Account details to log in, simply download the National Geographic App onto the second device and log in as normal.

    If you are an Optus or 30-day trial customer who logs in with your mobile number, download the National Geographic App onto the second device. When prompted, enter the phone number you normally use to log in. A verification code will be sent via SMS to your primary mobile phone. Enter

    How do I personalise my profile in the National Geographic App?

    You can personalise the National Geographic App to see more of the content you are interested in. If you use your login on more than one device, your actions on both devices will affect how the app is personalised for you. Personalisation is both active and passive:

    How do I watch the National Geographic App on my Chromecast?

    It’s easy to watch National Geographic content streamed through your Chromecast.

    First, make sure you have set up your Chromecast device correctly and that your mobile device is compatible with Chromecast. Please note, this is currently only available on compatible Android mobile devices.

    Next, ensure the National Geographic App is up-to-date, this can be checked via the Google Play store.

    Can I use WiFi to watch the National Geographic App content?

    The National Geographic App requires access to the internet in order to view content. If you don’t have access to the internet, you will be unable to stream any new content in the app or view content that you have viewed previously.

    Is usage via the National Geographic App data free whilst tethering or using Personal Hotspot?

    Viewing content on the National Geographic App will be data free if the mobile device you are tethered to is using the Optus mobile network.

    Other content such as ads, authentication, app analytics, Optus Competition Page or links to third party sites are excluded and may incur data charges.

    Important: Using the National Geographic App is not data free if you are tethering to a device that is using another network, or a Blackberry.

    Can I download the National Geographic App content to watch if I’m offline?

    The National Geographic App requires access to the internet in order to view content. If you don’t have access to the internet, you will be unable to stream any content into the app. You will also be unable to view content that you have viewed previously.

    Can I use the National Geographic App when I’m overseas or using a VPN?

    The National Geographic App and its content is only for use in Australia. It may be possible to access some content via the app while you’re overseas, however you will be charged roaming rates for any data used.

    Streaming while connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network) won’t be data free. This is because we won’t be able to detect your streaming traffic.

    The National Geographic App contains all issues of National Geographic magazine from January 2009 to present, plus a selection of the best classic issues from the archive. New content is always being added.

    How do I watch my favourite show within the National Geographic App?

    View full-length National Geographic TV shows in the National Geographic App. Tap Watch > Shows. 

    Featured shows appear at the top of the list – scroll sideways to view all featured shows. Below the featured shows is a full list of available National Geographic shows, displayed in alphabetical order.

    10 minute snippets of your favourite shows are also available – look for videos titled NG10 in the Watch feed.
