Chris Smith is the Head of Digital Sales and Service at Optus, leading the company’s digital distribution channels, which encompasses Digital Marketing, Digital Production, Digital Sales (online/telesales) and Digital Service Capability. Chris joined Optus as the Head of Online and under his leadership transformed Optus’ digital business, which included rebuilding Optus’ online and mobile app experience. The digital transformation delivered significant successes, including an award winning online experience, record mobile app growth, and significant increases in online sales and self-service transactions. Before joining Optus, Chris has spent more than 15 years in executive leadership roles, within the Banking and Media sectors. Chris successfully led digital transformations at companies like National Australian Bank (NAB), Sensis (Telstra Subsidiary) and led several successful digital start-ups. His passions for innovation, disruption, and leadership have been the cornerstone of his success in the digital sector. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of New Hampshire (USA), Master of Science Degree from the University of Rhode Island (USA), and a Graduate Certificate in Management, AGSM.
