HI,
I have a Sim card as part of family sharing mobile phone package, I dont use the 4th sim card. can I use this in a dongle just for data? if so, which is the best dongle to purchase for metro use.
@jmotherAs it's an Optus SIM you will be stuck with an Optus 4g dongle. If you want portable and cheap check out Woolies or Coles catalogs for ones on sale. If you want non portable then the B818. If you want something better than the cheap ones that Coles and Woolies have then the it only leaves the Netgear AC800S if you can get one as I think Optus have discontinued it.
Only Optus will know if the SIM will work in these dongles.
Hi there, @jmother,
Thanks for your question.
Is this a spare SIM in the Optus Family Plan ?
We are going to refer this question, just so we can get some clarity on whether the Family Plan Mobile SIM will work in a mobile broadband device. As the plan is designed to share data amongst mobile phone devices, we just want to be sure for you.

Just an update on this one, @jmother.
We need to advise that Family SIMs are designed for mobile phone use.
