Optus X smart

We have a new Optus X smart that has no sound at all unless the earphones are connected. No incoming ringtone or message tone, nothing.

How do i fix this?

Hi @Shan76, it's hard to say for sure, but there's a couple of things you can try.

First, you'll want to ensure that you've backed up your phone. 


How to Factory Reset/Hard Reset your Optus X Smart 


  1. Press and hold the Volume Up & Power key at the same time for a couple of seconds.
  2. Now, let go of held keys as soon as the ALCATEL logo pops up.
  3. The Recovery Mode should now appear on your screen.
  4. Choose "wipe data/factory reset" by using the Volume Down to navigate and the Power button to confirm it.

If you're still having trouble, the handset is covered by a 24-month warranty. You can bring the handset into your local Optus Store and we'll send it through to our warehouse for assessment.
