I recently bought a new plan including the data free Netflix and tv streaming. When I watc Netflix on the go does the data still go towards the bill and does it also go into the Optus app or does Optus dismiss it.
I was just wondering how do I know if they are charging me still and is there anyway to tell.
Any answer would be great thanks
Solved! Solved: Go to Solution.
if you change the STREAMING QUALITY TO HD it will not be free, it will be taken against your data allowance
the free netflix is only for SD or Standard Quality video
Streaming speed is set at Optus's end regardless of your clients ssetting.
1.5Mbit does actually provide 720p so technically it is "HD"
Unless you manually force netflix to use a different Netflix cache server other than Optus it will only deliver content up to 1.5Mbit on Optus Mobile services that have the streaming tv pack enabled.
This is why the FAQ on Mobile TV Streaming states the following:
What if I want to watch in high definition?
