I am setting up Fetch box in a new place. I want the Fetch box to be hidden inside the furniture.
With Foxtel, the remote worked through the doors and it didn't require line of sight to change channels or volume, etc ...
Is it the same with the Fetch remote? I don't want to cut holes in the back panels if the remote doesn't work with a door between it & the Fetch box.
Does anyone know if it can work that way?

Hi GillesB (funnily enough my name phonetically is GillesP)
No. The remote is IR (infrared and requires line of site).
The cheapest option would be to get an IR extender (JayCar, RadioShack, etc.) It just sits outside the cabinet and relays the signal through
I would also suggest you look into a good universal remote. These take a little effort to set up but once sorted you just hit a single button and everything works. You would probably want the Logitech Harmony Companion (works in through cabinets)
You can find them cheaper on eBay ($270).
(Note the above link won't work because the Optus forum thinks its a phone number. Simply remove all the "-" right at the at the end between the numbers to fix)
