My STB has been weird for about a week, then since Wednesday I have not been able to play recorded content getting instead a failure message.
Tonight a software update downloaded , well that’s what the message on the screen said. But no amount of restarting has managed to get past the black screen.
is it dead?
Hey @tmacg65 - what's the error message you're getting? What model STB do you have? Have you tried a soft reset?
Sound's like it's acting a little silly at the moment however we may be able to have it fixed.
Gen2 STB, I’ve tried the following:
Reset the box
Delete All recordings
Today when I turned everything I had a black screen, I wasn’t able to turn off the STB using the remote so I unplugged the device and restarted... successfully, it took 20 minutes.
Im not able to play recorded content, the message I get is:
”playback failed for programme name”
Attempting to play Downloaded content goes straight to a black screen no message.
When the STB starts up there are some loud audio sounds that cause my speakers to bang as well flickering on free to air channels that I don’t get when watching DTV.
i had the first set top box for 3 1/2 years before I upgraded to the Gen 2 a year ago.
