Is it ossible ti change the date of return for a fetch box. The xmas period is busy and I am not confient of the return date.

I wouldn't fret it. The return date is pretty wide (Optus don't do anything for few months). Worst case scenario they add the $250 fee to your bill in February or so, but they remove it as soon as they get the box back - the fee just covers the cost of any missing equipment.
FWIW its likely that even if you got the return date changed the Optus system wouldn't pass it on everywhere and you'd still get a invoice on the date anyway.
