I activated call forward to test it now I cant get it to cancel. When I go menu, features, call control, call forward, always, I change it to disabled and hit save and it says "nothings changed". frustrating!

Are you using your own hardware on the Optus bundled phone service?
If yes, perhaps disable the call forwarding from inside "My Optus".
