how to switch between 2.4ghz and 5ghz on my home wifi

Hi all

How do I switch from 2.4ghz to 5ghz on my how wifi network and is there any improvement in speed if possible please advise

Its just a matter of selecting the SSID of that ends in _5GHz .

5GHz is faster but the signal can not travel as far as 2.4GHz and is more prone to interference from obstructions like walls.

Thanks for that I have my modem in a central place  no brick walls interfering with signal however the 5ghz seems to drop-out as you say its not a strong signal

Its not just brick walls that will interfere and any types of walls or obstructions.

Is the modem sitting on the floor? If so it may be being obstructed by furniture. Try putting it higher temporarily, even if its just on a seat, and see if that makes a difference.

The modem is on set of drawers  no real place to put as the nbn box is close
