can any one report on the Huawei B818 performance

Hi,

can any one report on the Huawei B818 performance. I'm trying to decide on the 4 G wireless or NBN. No 5 G at my new address and my phone shows very slow 4 G.

thanks

I think you've answered your own question.
What NBN technology do you have available? FTTN?

Are you a heavy data user? 200Gb a month+?

Re: can any one report on the Huawei B818 performance

The NBN is HFC
I'm probably an average user; don't stream much just the odd free view stuff; don't play games and only myself. and 1-3 devices depending, Phone, laptop Desktop. laptop sometimes for updates usually.

So around  less than 200 GB, but you never know and NBN unlimited.
Also, never been on contract over 30 years with optus; and will avoid if possible

I've checked the coverage area site many times and it says indoors Good Good Good.

But, that's not what my phone shows???

Coverage is really only broad brush strokes and your location is really unknown until you put a device in and measure unfortunately.

I would definitely recommend a NBN plan for your usage. 4g is prone to good days and bad days and congestion and that's in a good reception area. HFC will provide a solid 40mbps and unlimited data. Optus offer month to month plans now so would try that Avenue before resorting to 4g.

Re: can any one report on the Huawei B818 performance

Hi,

that's pretty much what I was thinking.

I move in by the end of the week I'll place an order; And even though there are delays in delivery I have an Optus Sagemcom Gateway F@ST 3864V3 so; I'm hoping I can use that until the delivery arrives some day?

Thanks
