Ah, thanks for that @Albus. I'll have a good read through.

 

It'll be interesting to see what sort of results the initiative brings forward. What @petergdownload advised, regarding the small sample group is something to consider. NBN are also introducing another technology type into the mix (FTTC).

It does seem a too little too late IMO. The numbers generated would have made good reading a year or two ago. Perhaps the NBN wouldn't have had to cut costs and bundle a reasonable amount of CVC with its plans if it had been out for a while. It will still be interesting to see whether the RSPs own testing matches the ACCC (So when Optus says expect 60MBps in peak hour on a 100Mbps plan does that tally?)

 

Has the ACCC announced yet when it will be making the data available?

Hey Albus, I cancelled all services with Optus end of April ( NBN, Fetch , Unlimited $90 ) after FIVE YEARS as Optus decided to change my Fetch Subscription without my knowledge. I gave them 2 months to sort it out but they couldn't get it right. Hours wasted on the phone with overseas call centre did not help the situation with having to repeat the ever word spoken and then finding it hard to understand what was being said on the other side. I paid for top tier speed that never once happened in all the 5 years of the contract, numerous phone calls with the call centre passing me on to a different department at regular intervals. I think all of the hours wasted and cringe. I have gone to a small ISP that has a local call centre and so far so good, they have delivered on all promises and not once has my nbn dropped out which is a pleasant change. I get free Netflix streaming and paying less than half of what Optus was charging me for crap speeds and even crappier customer service. THERE IS A BETTER CHOICE THAN OPTUS.
