Hi Optus team,
At the Rainbow Serpent music festival (26th-29th January 2017) site, Optus reception is nil. Telstra is great...
We can get somewhat reception when we go on top of the hill (looooong walk, steep climb and possible snakes).
It would be great for you to set up a mobile repeater tower for the festival sow e can share photos and communicate between friends on site. The event gathers around 12 000 attendees.
The site is in Lexton Victoria. Please and Thank you.

Thanks for reaching out, I'm happy to pass the feedback onto our network teams to see what we can do. I know how frustrating it can be when you're unable to keep in touch with your own group at the festival. I hope you have an amazing time though!
All good, let us know if we can help with anything in the future
I'm just picking up on this. Rainbow serpent festival is on for a week starting 23rd of January this year. Is there going to be a repeater tower or a temporary solution for Optus reception over this time?
I'm not aware of any such plans. We've got a couple of guys in the office heading down to Rainbow as well, I'm afraid they'll be in the same boat. As far as reception is concerned; we do have 3G coverage in the area however it's patchy. I believe there are roughly 20,000 or so attendees, you may have intermittent coverage.
As per Rainbow Serpents FAQ's:
"There is occasionally some mobile reception on site at certain spots, but coverage will depend on your network and we recommend you don’t rely on it."
Yes, it's full house, but there is no reception in the area even when there is nof estival (I visit the site during the year).
There is only somewhat reception after climbing the hill.
I resorted to purchasing a Telstra $10 sim for 7 days to use during this time.
Thank you and all the best!
