Poor network reception at home

I'm living in Melbourne CBD along Elizabeth St and I am experiencing pathetically slow network speeds at home (living/bedroom). The maximum speed goes up to 2 out of 5 bars, which makes watching videos and Web browsing an absolute chore. Are there any workarounds to this?

Re: Poor network reception at home

You're talking about a mobile phone reception? FWIW the number of bars is not necessarily directly related to the speed you get however obviously you have and issue.

There is something called wifi calling (your mobile uses your home wifi to make calls etc.) do some looking into that and see if its available to you.

You should also get a $2 SIM from another Telco (or 2) and test out the reception and speeds these SIMs can give you in the same are (just swap SIMs and do some tests)

Also try your SIM in someone else's phone in your home. Its possible the issue is with your phone and not the carrier.
