Poor Internet Strength and Internet Speed

Currently have poor internet strength and internet speed. Strength icon on the left of the iPhone (steps icon) only goes to a maximum of two bars, generally moves between nil to two bars. When using iPad, iPhone and etc beside the modem and etc, does not improve. Unable to use any device connected away from modem and etc. Previously able to use devices within the house, now unable. Plus, also have a Fetch box under the account, Fetch remote does not operate for long periods and unable to use change channels, volume and etc. With the COVID virus and needing to work from home more often, internet access and strength is a absolute must. May need to replace modem. Internet speed is 42.7 mbps download and 18.4 mbps upload, been advised this should be faster under NBN.

Hi -if you have subscribed to a 50 down / 20 up service those speeds are not an issue.  Does connectivity improve if you link your Apple devices to the 2.4Ghz SSID (slower/longer reach) instead of the 5 Ghz SSID (faster/shorter) band?
