Optus webmail has been very slow for months and is getting worse. it is worse in the morning and better at night WST. I've contacted optus and they have said they are having problems with the server. Time to fix it. Obviously with more people at home due to COVID the system is not coping.
I use Webmail quite often and haven't personally seen this problem previously, however I've just tried to load it and found I could re-create the problem.
For the moment, I'd suggest :-
1. Load webmail via https://webmail.optusnet.com.au (the https:// at the beginning is important)
2. Enter your username and password as normal
3. Make sure that the "secure" radio button is checked
4. Press the login button
When I has "insecure" checked then the Webmail login took forever, but when I selected "secure" it pretty much loaded immediately.
Thanks. Those settings were correct, however I notice that at times the padlock disappears and it says the site is insecure. I am running the latest version of Microsoft edge in recent weeks on the desktop pc. It has been better in last few days but still varies
