Just got a new phone but when I use my existing optus SIM card I can't get 4G coverage. My SIM is recognised by the phone (Samsung S8) I can make calls but I have no network coverage (Just H+). I have checked connections, APN settings, tried different SIM cards but nothing works! Any suggestions?
Different SIMs from different carriers? Can you borrow a Telstra one for a quick test?
Is another phone getting 4G OK? You could check for a tower outage in your area.
You could also try your SIM in another phone to see if 4G is happening.
But its sounding like the phone might be busted and you'll need to pop back to an optus store. Confirm its settings are not set to H only.
Thanks for your response Peter. I have tried different SIMs from different carriers all of which work in other phones. The sim I'm issuing has come straight from an older model phone and has always had 4g coverage so it doesn't look like the SIM
