The wifi problem is the *moderated* Sagemcom router they give you. Nothing to do with Victoria.

You can buy your own VDSL2+ router with proper wifi.

Do you still have your old modem? Or an old modem? You can try adding that to your network and use the wifi in that modem instead)

WiFi functionality is unrelated to the NBN.

Re: Nbn issues! Absolute rubbish

Hi Peter, nbn has been down since 4pm Sunday in my area. Complete outage! Happens a lot, just not usually for this long. Wifi issue, thanks for that.  Since getting nbn & new Optus router, the range is terrible. Wifi in 1 room & that's it. Used to be fine before.

Shouldn't have to spend more money, but thank you for your reply. Optus never give any help.

Re: Nbn issues! Absolute rubbish

Agree you shouldn't need to spend more money to get functional wifi. WiFi range should be at least 20m in a normal home. You can ask Optus to send you a replacement and hopefully that one works.

But otherwise do some research and invest in a better one. I just grabbed two of these. One is fine for you but Asus just added Mesh capability to them so you can set more than one up in different parts of the house and you get a single login blanket effect. However $145 is probably more than you want to spend.

Hope your internet is back up soon.
