I switched to Optus from Telstra last October. For the first month or so, I was getting better coverage at home than Telstra and was considering switching the other mobile service.
Just as well I didn't!
I have NO reception at home. NO reception at Bowraville 2449 and NO reception at Macksville 2447. I do have reception at Nambucca Heads 2448, Bellingen and Coffs Harbour.
I have spend about four hours on customer service chat (cannot call as I have NO reception) and have been contacted ONCE on the other service as requested (the Telstra service with some semblance of reception) and about three times on the service that has NO reception. At all times I have replied to the SMS for HELP.
Why is there no reception to the area even though your coverage map indicates that there is? There was so I am not imagining things yet reception failed sometime in early November. Why is this a difficult question for customer service people to answer?
So far my experience with Optus has been horrendous. Can someone resolve this issue please?
I can't comment on early November but both those locations have been flagged as possibly fire affected areas. When you are in area that has coverage it might pay to ring the hotline on 1300 301 671 and see what areas are affected by the fires. Alternatively you can send a complaint via the online form if you cant get a straight answer from anyone.
