In July 2017 I put dual Yagi Antennas on my roof pointed directly at the Knights Hill Tower some 10 km away.
I connecte d through a TP Link MR6400 Wireless router.
Signal strangth was 75 % and download speed 95 mbs.
By December the downlaod speed was down to 75 mbs.
Progressively over the last 8 months the signal strenght has decreased tyo 25 5 and the download speed has also reduced.
50 mbs around March, 35 mbs aropund July and now 20 mbs.
Thinking it may have been the router, I purchases a repalcement but the end result has been the same.
Has anyone experienced a gradual reduction in strength and speed as I have?

It's been my experience that routers don't wear out they simply work or don't work. Some routers of course work better than others. With a directional antenna are you sure that hasn't moved or there is water in the cable connectors or something of that nature?

Hi and thanks for your response.
As indicated in my post, I replaced the existing TP-Link MR6400 Router with a new one and there was no improvement yesterday.
Further, the antennas were checked for alignment and the conectionbs redone in case there had been water ingress.
As a surprise, at 0655 this morningv the signal strength has jumped to 75% and the speed to 55 mps.
I have a feeling Optus (or someone) is working on the Knights Hill Tower even though the network status indicates otherwise.

Better reception depending on the polarization of you antenna systems was the topic on Wirlpool. If the network status page shows no issues and your antenna system is working ok then I can only suggest you speak with support as they may know something that we don't.
