I am having issues connecting to my desktop connected via NBN using my Surface 3 from a remote location.
Both computers operating systems are Windows 10 Pro.
Keeps telling me there is an internal error.
I had this set up and working previously to connecting to NBN.
Suggest you try Team Viewer. It's free for personal use and like Dropbox UST seems to work.
If you want to stay with RDC perhaps it's the ports you need to open up on your modem?

This article almost tells you, except it mysteriously locates an example computer at 10.0.0.x and then changes it to 192.168.x.x in the next picture. Also gives no explanation of why they are using 55501 instead of 3389.
Another thing you have to be alert to, is that your computer will be on an unpredictable internal address, if another one in the house boots and connects to the router before yours. So, you also have to find the part in your Sagemcom that locks your computer to a predictable (high) address, by using the MAC number of the network card.
Or just change the network settings on the PC to a fixed internal address
1. Turn off GET SETTINGS AUTOMATICALLY
2. Set the PC netwok manully Eg:
PC IP: 18.104.22.168
Gateway (Modem): 192.168.0.1
Just make sure your DHCP server (probably your modem in a menu) only hands out addresses automatically in a range less than 200.
But that probably sounds like gobble gook? You might need a IT pal to help out for a few minutes with the settings.
