Removal of NBN HFC Cable

So i've had two goes at this. Have successfully logged tickets to have an inactive HFC cable removed prior to a renovation.

Unfortunately both times the Tech is sent to the wrong street and then when redirected to my actual house refuses to touch the Optus cable. The kicker is that he then goes on to tell me that whilst he can't touch the cable, I'm ok to simply cut it and hang it off the pole. Sounds super illegal!

How can I solve this simple problem before the mounting point comes down. It really shouldn't be this hard.

Re: Removal of NBN HFC Cable

Your heading says "NBN HFC Cable"? Only NBNCo can touch NBN cables. Optus staff however can disconnect an Optus HFC cable anytime. Are you sure its the Optus cable?
