Plan change help

Hello there,

Hope this is the correct forum

Just noticed our plan/bill has gone from $83 to $93!

But I see there is a $70 option.

As we never use the Optus set top box, I am guessing the $70 will do us just fine.

Now. I guess we signed up for what we have...but is it hard to change plans...or even possible before the end of contract?

I am asking here before taking the deep breath and diving down to the 'Phone and ringing someone !!

Thanks.

Re: Plan change help

I don't know how hard it is to change plans, but be aware that the $70 plan does not include call costs like the $90 plan. Unlimited standard local and national calls ($5/mth). Aus mobile calls ($5/mth).

Re: Plan change help

It's definitely possible @ColinHarry

Depending on your offer, there are different rules around changing your plan or re-contracting your service. You'll need to refer to your plan CIS for information relevant to your rate plan.

If you've recently signed up for the $90.00 plan and you'd like to drop down to the $70.00 plan, an early recontract fee of $80 will apply and a new 24-month contract will begin.

If you contact us, we'll be able to walk you through the next steps.

Re: Plan change help

Your bill should list why the extra $10. It could be an error like a Fetch TV package?
What are your connectivity needs? Do you use much data? Need much speed? Want a landline? How long into your contract are you?

Re: Plan change help

Thanks folks...Petergodownload..I am thinking the extra $10 is because of the basic rate going up from $80 ish to $90 ish...

Has this happened? Has this rate increased just lately??

Or is it, like Petergodownload mentioned, a possible mistake?

Any clues on that?

Re: Plan change help

If you are still under contract then your basic rate will remain unchanged (That's why you have a contract - to lock in the price)

You'll need to contact Optus direct to discus your bill details (we can only guess). You can discus changing plans at the time and feel free to post back here with any questions as its likely you will trip up an unintended consequence (read $) if you do decide to change.
What postcode are you in? Is the NBN available?

Re: Plan change help

Thanks,

Just wondered if the Optus NBN plans have increased in price lately?

I have NBN ! The price went up $10 for the month.

I am wondering if plans at Optus have increased in price just lately?

Or is it only mine?

Has your monthly price been increased?

Has anyones ?

I acnnot find this info.

Thanks..

Re: Plan change help

No Optus hasn't increased their prices lately, but it wouldn't matter if they did. While you are on contract your monthly price is fixed. If you want to know what the $10 is for then please contact Optus. Only they can tell you.

Re: Plan change help

Interesting development.

Extra money seems to have been a "call diversions" charge?

However. NO ONE appears to know how to turn it off !

I never asked for it to be turned on !!

Yes folks. It still appears to be on and all my calls are being diverted.

#78 ?  No doesn't work.

Great stuff Optus.
