Hi @Optusnbnsucks, sorry if you feel that way. Understand this is frustrating. With regards to speed it depends on various factors. Further investigation needs to be done on your connection. We don`t have access to customers account on this public forum. If you have a social media account then please send a PM to Optus on Facebook or a DM on Twitter with the details for further assistance in this regards.
Is that correct that NBNCo Guarantee a minimum of 25Mbps for every household. I am on the 50/20 Mbps plan and i have never reached 25Mbps. I ring up and ask why i end up with a $20 discount for 3 months until the problem is fixed (it hasn't been fixed yet) and after the 3 months is up i have to ring up again and go through the process all over again. I can understand the OP's frustration with this , But until either Optus or NBNCo can get their act to-gether nothing will change.
Therein lies the problem. I have contacted both Telstra and Aussie Broadband as well as two more (IINet and TPG) and all cannot say they will better the speed i am currently getting. and all of them are saying it is an NBNCo problem.
So changing RSP's will not solve anything, I will still have woeful speeds but with a different provider. My connection (FTTN) is fairly stable just slow.
I also have FetchTV and 2 Mobiles with Optus. I am not Really complaining about Optus ( they can only give what NBNCo give them and according to Optus NBNCo has capped my speed at 25Mbps, I don't know why and NBNCo will not talk me i have to go thru Optus with any queries.)
Months and months later and the issue still persists. We even upgraded our internet speeds to 20mbs download, and only receive around 5-7mbs on a GOOD day, half the time we receive around 1mbs. It clearly doesn't come down to, try this, or maybe there's a faulty wire. It comes down to Optus not willing to supply enough bandwidth because they are scabby. Literally the only fix is to go to another service provider. Period.
