FTTN. This uses the old copper phone wiring.

For trouble shooting purposes you just need to plug the Optus modem in and turn it on. Contact Optus and ask if they can 'see' the modem from their end. This requires no settings or anything by you.

If they can't see the modem then your NBN line is faulty. They should send out a NBN technician to check it. Just ask.

all good, as I said I got home and its working - so who knows what happened

 

Sunday when I called them they could see the connection/modem so couldn't explain why I didn't have internet, they sent the new modem and I appeared to have same problem, but it has now resolved itself
