Netgear router SLOWER than optus one??

JassMan

Hi all

A couple of things...I just got my NBN connected at home. I tested it and the speed was very good using the supplied Optus router SAGECOM 3864.

1) However when I swapped it with my Netgear Nighthawk X6 router, the speed was actually SLOWER.  It was as if I wasn't even on NBN anymore...?  Any reason why that could be doing that?

2) Also, i did try to use my old router but I found that when I changed DNS addressed to use a PROXY, it simply would't work...  this could be an issue as I need to use proxies occassionally.

Thanks all

10000000000GB

I wanted check the modem component of the X6, but I cannot find which is the modem/router version.

The Sagemcom is a modem/router. Some people have an Arris box which does the modem part.
