About to have NBN FTTN connected for my elderly mother, she only has old style analog phone sockets in the house, so no ethernet style ports to connect the modem.
Is it as simple as buying an adapter for the old port to convert to ethernet, something like "Telephone RJ11 6P2C Modular Socket to Australian 605 Phone Connector - X004" that I can get at Officeworks or the like for under $10 or do I need something more complicated? Speed is irrelevant, as long as I can get the internet on, I just need the minimum to make it go.
Thanks in advance.
A wall socket will be installed by a NBN technician. Click on this link for info:
I thought that was the case too, but when they contacted Mum they said they didn't have to come inside and she didn't need to be there which is going to make an instal pretty difficult...
I got on the phone to Optus service and they stated I needed an adapter but it'd be fair to say I wasn't that confident in the response I was getting.
