I have noticed that my 50mps speed plan appears to have improved speeds over the last few days.
It has gone from an average of 47 to 55mbs
Has something changed at optus or is this just an NBN bonus?
NBN have changed what they deliver fixed line internet so that the end user can achieve the headline download speed the RSPs advertise (assuming the end user does not have any line distance/quality problems).
Previously for say NBN 50, the NBN delivered 50mbps but not all of it was usable by the end user because there was network overhead. Now the NBN over-provisions the 50mbs so that even with network overheads, the end user should see at least 50mbps.
For my NBN FTTC 100 I went from about 95.3 to 107.5.
However I believe its limited to 50/20 and 100/20 plans.
That was my understanding as well, but I'm on 100/40 and got it. I hope they don't stuff me up when they revert the speed pack 3+ customers from 100/40 to 100/20.
When I first noticed it last night it as 107.5 but has dropped down 102.x.
