NBN connection

Switch from Telstra to Optus due to moving interstate and already contemplating going back. Ordered nbn for our house well over a month ago. Only just received modem. Plugged in and nothing. Rang Optus and took 20min to get to someone who said it would be another 1 1/2hrs at least and they couldn’t even tell me if account was activated. 1hr 27min on hold I was answered and told it’s an outage and everything else is ready to go. Got a text saying outage over and followed instructions. Nope. Have tried calling several times over the last few days and nothing, just hangs up after 1 1/2hrs. Yes I know that we are in trying times but seriously, we need internet for work and school which is why we ordered it months ago. How do we actually get to find out if it’s connected as no one taking calls and registered for the app but nothing on it as no services linked to it . Any suggestions please

If its this one then you should be able to at least make use of the 4G backup facility while you wait fur the NBN connection to be activated.

Re: NBN connection

Thanks will try but issue is more being able to contact someone to confirm that it is activated as the Optus tech said it was but it definitely isn’t. We get a flashing dsl light for a few seconds then off for a few more and repeats over and over again

In normal situations you have received and SMS/email stating its been activated.

As for outages you should be able to enter your address in fixed outages section here to check.

If you are getting DSL lights II assume you're  FTTN or FTTB, correct?

Re: NBN connection

Yeah Fttn. Had an activation text message a week before we even got the modem.
No outages in our area.

Re: NBN connection

Short of giving it another kick by powering it off/on again, doesn't look like have any option but keep pushing Optus, as frustrating as that is.
