I was sent a modem but the guy installed one that morning.

So the technician came and installed our modem for us, then a couple hours later we received the exact same modem in the mail, however it has a different network and password? I believe this is a mistake however due to the corona, we cannot call about it and my partner is the account holder but is working long hours at the moment. I don’t know what to do, are we getting charges for two modems?? Do we just send it back??

Don't do anything about it at the moment, just keep an eye on your bills to see if they double charge you.

Then next month or so after Optus support gets back on its feet you can contact them to see what they want to do about it.
