Re: Do I need a username & password for NBN??

I'm guessing the "hidden items" part of the link is pertinent.

The answer to the question remains the same.

1. Optus sometimes requires you to use the modem they supply for free to activate the line
2. You can use any other modem after that (and often without that) if you want.
3. You will lose the landline phone if you don't use the Optus modem.

It's actually a link within that page which most of us on the forum refer back to.

You can find it here: https://yescrowd.optus.com.au/t5/Broadband-Telephony-Knowledge/Bridging-your-NBN-Modem-Router/ta-p/1...

Re: Do I need a username & password for NBN??

Hi I’ve just got the vr2100 and not connecting. I have gone through this thread trying to resolve it.

I set up as

isp others

adsl

dynamic

it’s asks about vpi and CPI  I set as vpi 8 and CPI 35  as the web interface default to that somehow  Optus wouldn’t give me an answer

what am I missing?

Thanks for sharing this with us here @andjoh.

How have you got the modem connected? I

Generally speaking, if NBN is connected to this, you'd need to use the password and username that's been provided with the modem.

Then tries to connect then tells me to check if my phone line is properly connected. It’s plugged from the wall then into the DHL socket. All attempts are blaming the phone connection. It’s fine on the Optus modem so I don’t know what the tplink is crying about 🤷🏼‍♂️

Re: Do I need a username & password for NBN??

So basically if it’s telling me to check my phone line every time, could that be a hardware issue as it’s not able to attempt any configuration settings? Should I return it?  I even swapped a new phone cable supplied in the modem box 🤷🏼‍♂️
