Re: DNS Hijacking (F@ST 5366)

Optus is still hijacking DNS even performing manual DNS settings on devices.

Re: DNS Hijacking (F@ST 5366)

@Jack_YC this problem is very well documented in this thread and your response is disrespectful to all those who have taken the time to troubleshoot already and end up here.

- is there a solution?

- why not?

Poor show @Optus

Re: DNS Hijacking (F@ST 5366)

@VFRBoy

Well said you beat me to it...

@Jack_YC

a solution where you read the thread first and supply a meaningful response would be great.

Just to help you

We Don't have full control of the DNS Settings in the Modems We buy from OPTUS.

This is obviously less than satisfactory. When will the DNS be fully configurable for users

our only option is to buy another modem - (SIC)

then surprise surprise the phone side doesn't work because Optus locks down our settings also.

Strider - Simple firmware update will fix it 😛 - Feel free to let us know when that is happening??

Re: DNS Hijacking (F@ST 5366)

Thanks Jack for your response but I and many others in this thread had vented our frustration on this point its been years and the issue of sagemcom f@st 5366 tn modem firmware locking administrative functions how DNS is hi jacking has been raised. This thread is proof people are still having this issue. I just wanted to point out that even manually changing DNS settings on device does not prevent the modem from rerouting it through optus DNS. Unless im missing something.

Re: DNS Hijacking (F@ST 5366)

As a side note on this Modem/Router

Mine drops the routing table regularly - a reboot required to fix.

I now have a mechanical timer that reboots it nightly at 2.00am or so --

only way to ensure certain services remain running.
