Connecting D-Link N300 to Optus

My Optus provided modem was fried in a lightning storm.

I bought a new modem as the Optus replacement time was over a week and I can't wait that long.

The advice was I could get a 3rd party router immediately, which I did, but I didn't get the further advice that it isn't supported by Optus. I now find the device isn't syncing and I have no idea how to configure it.

I thought perhaps someone here might be able to help me do this as I'm lost. I suspect it's not complicated, but it is for me.

I look forward to a quick response....

Re: Connecting D-Link N300 to Optus

What  type of NBN do you have FTTN/FTTC/FTTP etc?

If its FTTC/FTTP/NBN HFC there should be no config needed, just plug the D-Link wan port into the NBN gateway port via an ethernet (LAN) cable .

FTTN and FTTB, require some minor setting changes and the connection to the NBN box is via phone cable not ethernet cable.
