Battlenet Lag and Login Fail

My Battlenet login crashed this afternoon at 2.40 and has not come back up.

Previously I have had lag spikes, but only to Battlenet, not to other apps.

What is going on?

Optus currently not allowing connection to US BattleNet game services

Hi all,

Just today OPTUS has started blocking / not routing connections to the US Battlenet game services. I can easily connect to the EU servers but am once again unable to login to any games from there.

The issue is being reported here: http://aussieoutages.com/status/battle-nethttps://outage.report/battlenet#2018-06-30

I've tried all the usual suspects. What do?

Re: Battlenet Lag and Login Fail

Same here - I'm reading all over the place that it's specifically Optus that's the problem and others were able to log in through a VPN and using Telstra or other service providers...

Re: Battlenet Lag and Login Fail

I'm logged in now through my phone.

But that isn't a long term solution.

Re: Battlenet Lag and Login Fail

Hey guys, we're in the process of investigating this one.

Reports seem to indicate a DNS or routing issues. Customers are reporting that they're able to login to Battlenet with a VPN.

We've alerted Networks and we'll have another update shortly.

If I could grab some details from you guys, that'd be really great.

Can I get you guys to send us a PM with your account details?

I need your full name, DOB and account number.

We need to get a case raised for this one.

Can I get you to send that through to → http://yesopt.us/pmdan

Re: Optus currently not allowing connection to US BattleNet game services

Just called customer support. he confirmed that there "is currently a security concern and our team is working hard to resolve this as soon as possible"

Not really happy with the service given in this case.

Re: Battlenet Lag and Login Fail

Not long off the phone to tech support myself, have it logged with a case #.  Located in Ipswich, Qld, on FTTP.  Did the usual routine (ipconfig /flushdns, router reset, reboot computers etc).

Traceroute results to us.battle.net

Tracing route to us.battle.net [24.105.29.40]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.254 [192.168.0.254]
2 4 ms 2 ms 3 ms rdl1-l101.bng.optusnet.com.au [106.70.0.1]
3 * * * Request timed out.
4 * * * Request timed out.

Can view the EU websites (https://eu.battle.net/) but can't see any of the US ones (https://us.battle.net/). Happened pretty much 1.40pm on the dot (AEST) - that's when our household was all disconnected simultaneously in Diablo 3.  Seems everything *.us.battle.net is unreachable...
