Assume any SMS or email requesting details updates or bill payment is a scam. Especially if their are no personal details (Like your wife's name). Especially if its got info incorrect (like the account number). Especially if it has embedded links (that go to phishing web pages). Especially if there's some vague soon threat (disconnection in a few days, etc.). Especially if you weren't expecting anything like it.

Ah. Sorry but that might be different. There are snail mail frauds (send a company a fake invoice and hope the secretary just pays it etc.) but yours probably seems like a misaddressed bill - did it have an actual name etc. at the top? Still nothing to worry about (as its not your bill) but usually I'd let Optus know - its just at the moment that niceness will likely take a few hours to gt through.

Or just a miss-delivered bill.

Every time we get a new postman we tend to get to odd piece of mail intended for somebody nearby, or they get ours.
