When should I set up Direct Debit?

I have received my first account from Optus with $0 required because the first 3 months of the plan are free. After this time the cost will be $40 per month.

Can you tell me when I should set up a direct debit for future payments - now or after 3 months?

Can I do this online or do I need to ring Optus?

Hey there Susan,

Welcome to Optus!

You're free to set it up whenever you like, no issue to have it set up whilst there are no bills owing Smiley Happy

 To set up direct debit, follow one of the instructions below:

  • In the My Optus app: Select Billing > Manage Direct Debit > Follow the prompts

  • In My Account: Log in > Select the Billing tab > Manage Direct Debit Set up direct debit > Follow the prompts

  • Via phone: 1300 157 714 > Follow the prompts

Do it now. Optus only debits money when something is owed.
