I’m unable to change from outlook as this is. Business email I was able to send to hotmail before but it just started playing up last week I am also having problems sending to bigpond addresses .

Please see my post of last Tuesday 1 June.  Technical Support have contacted me and advised that a case was raised on 21 May (ref no 23819883) regarding this issue.  I will contact them this week to see what progress has been made.  This problem appears to be quite widespread based on comments on this forum and with my own colleagues who are Optusnet email users.  Using Optus Webmail does not resolve the problem.  Because emails to Hotmail addressees that are not delivered do not bounce back as 'undeliverable', I suspect many Optusnet email users are still unaware of the problem because you don't know your email hasn't been received until you speak to the addressee to ask them why they haven't replied.

Thanks @angier for sharing this with us.

On the case itself, it's being escalated to a specialist team whom assist with these specific issues. The parent case : 23794902 which our team are working on, has advised that we're awaiting an update on the team to provide us an update as of the 3rd of June. Hopefully we get a update in the coming week for all impacted customers.

I was advised by Tech Support that the 'parent case' number was 23819883, so there appears to be two reference numbers relating to this issue.  Hopefully, there aren't two sets of people working separately on the same problem.

After reading through all these responses, I am amazed at Optus Support's suggestions and questions. We are having the same issue and believe me, it is not necessarily an email application issue but rather appears as if emails sent from the Optus SMTP servers are blacklisting these emails randomly?! Can someone at a higher support level at Optus, please search a bit deeper, as this seems to be impacting many Optus users.

I finally managed to get the emails through to the bigpond users but only after I took off encryption in my outlook . Still can’t email my hotmail account .

I’m also having the same issue. I run a youth community group and was wondering why parents weren’t responding. Then discovered they are intermittently receiving my emails. This started in May. These are parents with hotmail addresses and now it’s happening to one with an outlook address. Nothing has changed from my end. I use mail on mac as it’s linked to my address book so I can send group emails. I refuse to use the optus web client as it is sooo slow & cumbersome and has no storage. But I was initially thinking it’s a problem on the hotmail end - they’re not letting optusnet emails go through?? Now after reading this forum I’m not sure. As I have numerous emails linked to my mail app on the app I have switched to using my gmail one for now. These are all going through. So is it optusnet or hotmail with the issue???? Hotmail forums also seem to have the same complaint.
