weird issue ever - help urgently

I recently cancelled my service with optus and ported my optus number onto telstra sim.

My phone is optus prepaid oppo a73 and it is unlocked. But, the strange issue is that the telstra sim mobile data works and is active but i cannot receive or make calls. Telstra say they cannot help as they say it is due to optus's hidden setting somewhere in the prepaid phone. Does that mean optus prepaid phone may have some hidden optus setting that needs to be disabled? Otherwise, the phone will be rendered useless and i will be out of a phone just because of this issue?! Any help would be appreciated. thanks
