phone plan scam

I have had a couple of phone calls  supposedly from a person claiming to be from Optus saying they are going to drop my plan from $30 to $25 per month, no contract (but I have a contract) all I need to do is install the SIM card they are going to send me, anybody else encountered these calls. Terminated the call before it could be finished

Re: phone plan scam

Sounds like someone trying to port you to another provider. They need very little information. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: phone plan scam

Hi Gibbo1950,

Are you in the final month or so of your existing contract?

I haven't heard of that offer not to say it isn't one.

The most suspicious part is the sending you out a SIM which shouldn't be needed.

Thanks for sharing on Yes Crowd.
