locked sim card

I have an Optus Sim card that I have never used but tried to activate today - 10/09/20 but it tells me it is locked.  Do I need to call provider and have them unlock the sim or do I purchase a new sim?

Hi @cristinapelli, thanks for getting in touch with us. It seems like the device you are using is locked to a specific network and you're unable to use a Optus SIM. 


Did you perhaps purchase this phone from retail store?
