activating sim

I just got my optus sim card today and i did everything right to activate it and it said it would send me a message when it was all set up it also said it could take up to four hours but it’s been over four hours now and i’ve got no messages and it still says SOS only. What do i do?

Have you turned the device off and back on again? Often when a device goes SOS Only, it gives up retrying to try and conserve the battery. If after 24 hours and you've power cycled your device you still have SOS only, I would chat to, or call Optus to get them to check why it's not yet active.
