Xunlei/Thunder share file

benjy1507

Hi All,

Ive just started having a third of my data chewed up by the above file. I notice a lot of other comments on this subject are dated Oct last year 2018.

And it appears the problem is still ongoing.

Optus advised me that its youtube draining the data due to some merger or similiar but couldnt give me a fix date.

For the people who had this issue back in Oct 18, are you still having the same problem or what has happened to stop this?

I am not going to be happy if this is going to be an ongoing data theft each month.

Could you show how your "Data is being stolen"? I do understand why you are using such emotive language but really without proof...

Reading the post you refer to, and another:

https://yescrowd.optus.com.au/t5/Mobile/Data-usage-by-service-called-quot-Xunlei-Thunder-quot/td-p/4...

It's simply the "Optus breakdown app" misclassifying the YouTube viewing data as "Xunlei/Thunder Share".

Your data hasn't been stolen.

It is being stolen. I did not give permission for 10GB of my paid for data going to some secretive file that I know absolutely nothing about.

Optus are now reimbursing customers the missing data thats been taken without authority.

As you stated, your not an Optus employee so why are you commenting at all.

I really don't think it's as secretive as you believe, the two links I provided show that it's just the breakdown app misclassifying the usage.

As to why I'm replying, this is a crowd support site where plenty of us who aren't staff can help you fix or resolve questions, but it's not designed as a replacement to you calling or chatting with billing/technical support.

Myth

Just noticed the same issue was identified back in October last year with little/no reason from optus “https://yescrowd.optus.com.au/t5/Mobile/Data-usage-by-service-called-quot-Xunlei-Thunder-quot/m-p/48...

so thanks for your response to the original question...
