I clicked through on the Virgin website (after signing in) and found this deal to port my number over to Optus. It was 15GB data sim card only deal $30 per month. I clicked through and gave all my details including ID. I was then called by Optus to finalize the deal and was told I was incorrect and their monthly deal is 3GB per month at $30 so I though I must have read the deal wrong. I have since rechecked and the offer is still current. It is not expired as I have been told. I would like to know why one deal is being advertised and not honoured? This is a special deal for the Virgin customers to come across to Optus. See attachments.
I had a live chat with someone (I won't name here) and was told check the deals on the Optus site in future then the chat was cut off. This seems to be false advertising and I would like the deal that is being advertised online to Virgin customers.

I doubt the promo is expired and I believe the people I've spoken to thus far have not been aware of the special deal being offered to Virgin customers.

I would suggest you contact Optus again. Different people have different understandings of sales. Perhaps try phone as well as LIVECHAT?
You'd need to stress it is for a Virgin Swap over customer
Its been around for a while
I suspect you just need to get a cluey service agent (can you activate it from the Virgin Mobile end?)

I called them again and spoke to another sales person and they knew what I was talking about straight away and swapped my plan to the right one! All good now!!
