Urgent please help!!!

PLEASE HELP! I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN GETTING LARGE BILLS ($400 - $600) I FIGURED OUT WHY, ITS BECAUSE OF THIRD PARTY DISTRIBUTORS, I WATCH PORN AND IT SENDS ME A TEXT SAYING " YOUR SUBSCRIPTION TO ITUBE COSTS $9/W" BUT I DONT SUBSCRIBE TO ANYTHING, ITS FROM WATCHING THINGS, A VIRUS MAYBE? COULD SOMONE PLEASE HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS, I CANT KEEP PAYING SO MUCH! REALLY URGENT

Its called Premium SMS and is usually a scam (clicking on a innocent looking link can 'sign you up')

 

Send the word STOP (Nothing else) to the SMS you have recieved.

 

As its a 'subscription' they sometimes will then bill you for several weeks yet to come in one go.

 

Contact Optus directly and tell them to set your MONTHLY PREMIUM SMS LIMIT to $0 - this will stop it happening in the future.

 

Also request Optus refute the exisitng charges for you (some customer service people say they can't do this, other ones do (its about 50-50 so get another customer service person if the first one fails).

 

Its likely the scammers will just not reply and the amount will be recredited to your account next bill.

Sorry to hear that this has been your experience, Peter is correct it's best to speak with our Customer Care team so they can dispute these charges and set a $0 spend limit on your account. 

 

Once the charges are disputed the Third Party provider will be in contact with you to discuss the charges further.

Thankyou peter, really appreciated i called optus and made it so i cannot get third party allowances added to my bill, i also got a refund since there hasnt been any activity...
