Hmm that's a little strange @krusty71, when activating a new sim card - there are two options:  New and Replacement. If you have opted for the replacement tab, this will activate the existing number attached to your account.


If you were wanting a completely new number, I would recommend heading into store and the teams on site will be able to provide you with another card to activate the service -Quade

Are you porting out a number from Optus or a number into Optus? Usually where you are applying asks for your old number and if you provide it it will be transfered across to the new SIM on activation automatically.
