SHIFT5me

Hempelch

Hello there

Would you be able to tell me: if I would buy a SHIFT5me phone in Germany, would it work in Australia using Optus?

SHIFT is a great brand as they try to build more ethical and sustainable mobile phones.

This is what SHIFT cites as the phone's technical specifications on their website (apologies for the German, I figure it translates):

  • Infrastruktur: 2G / 3G / 4G LTE
  • LTE Frequenzbänder: FDD-LTE B1/ B3/ B7 /B20, TDD-LTE B38 /B39 /B40 /B41
  • 3G Frequenzbänder: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA: B1/ B2/ B3/ B5/ B8, CDMA (800, 1900, 2100Mhz), TD-SCDMA (1900, 2000Mhz)
  • max: SAR-Wert: 0,256W/kg (GSM) bzw. 0,156W/kg (LTE)

Would you be able to tell me what I need to look out for before I buy a SHIFT5me in Germany?

Thanks!

Optus uses:

2G .             3G                       4G

N/A900MHz (B8)
2100MHz (B1)
700MHz (B28)
1800MHz (B3)
2100MHz (B1)
2300MHz (B40)
2600MHz (B7)

3G: Supported

4G: All except B28  (700mhz) which may affect some locations but it will fall to other supported frequencies.

I'm a Yes-Crowd Contributor, not an Optus Employee, and I contribute on a voluntary basis. Did someone on Yes Crowd answer your question? Did they share a great tip Please remember to acknowledge their awesomeness by throwing a Kudo and or Accepted Solution their way.
