Re: Premium SMS (PSMS), FreeMsg: Buzzobee Subscription????

Gday

My son clicked on an subscription ad within a free game app, i went straight to the source which was the company/charger. Googled there details and they seamed legitand called there customer service line. The operator said this does happen and processed a reversal which credited my next account. So far no other charges and ive just had optus hopefully block this stuff for the future.  I didnt have to deal with optus or ombudsmen. Hope everything works out for yall.

Contact Optus to get the money back and mention TIO (Ombudsman) if unsuccessful.

Re: Premium SMS (PSMS), FreeMsg: Buzzobee Subscription????

Optus should have our backs. We are paying customers . Its absolutely ridiculous.  I used to recommend optus to every one however after falling victim to a number of these scams with minimal help or advice from the optus shop or optus telecommunications, I now say "what ever you do, don't go optus" .

They r in partnership with these content servers! I'm so upset after another 80 dollars has just been taken out! Only last month I resolved another one!

Re: Premium SMS (PSMS), FreeMsg: Buzzobee Subscription????

This is bad news as Telstra in the meantime has stopped those scams and has even contacted scammed customers and offered the money back, after all, according to the comms forum Whirlpool, those scams have been running for about ten years now and have netted telcos and scammers Millions.

Perhaps Slater and Gordon and Maurice Blackburn will be interested in a class action. Try Optus again to get your money back, if not, contact the TIO on-line.

Re: Premium SMS (PSMS), FreeMsg: Buzzobee Subscription????

Hey guys, you might want to check out the new blog we've put up.

From 24th August 2018, you will no longer be able to purchase content from some Third Party Content Providers via your mobile bill or using your prepaid credit.

You will still be able to purchase one-off payments such as charity donations, TV voting (e.g. X Factor) and TV competitions (e.g. Eurovision and Channel 7 Sunrise Cash Cow).

You will also continue to be able to pay for subscriptions and one-off purchases via certain approved Third Party Content Providers, such as Google Play, Microsoft, Netflix and Spotify.

@Shelly22222, I'm happy to help get the ball rolling on a refund. You'll need to send us a private message with your account details. I need your full name, DOB and mobile number → http://yesopt.us/pmdan

Re: Premium SMS (PSMS), FreeMsg: Buzzobee Subscription????

This took years to implement but very good something was done.

Now can somebody please explain how I constantly get spammed sms's from "hidden" phone numbers

- if they can't put their number on it - then i should be able to block it.

Somehow online casinos got my number and this is the result:-

Join 7Bit Casino and get 100 Free Spins! Start Playing Now:

15 different iterations in past few weeks-  it is getting downright painful and i'm gunnna have to get a new number

just to have some peace.

Optus caused this by allowing people to sms their paying customers from numbers that aren't even showing as "private" we should be able to protect ourselves.  I want messages from private numbers (friends who have given up on their own security)

but i can't see why optus allows this.

Which is incidentally an Optus old number. Optus should be able to track these people.

I tried going to the actual site using a private window in chrome and the casino wanted my number to "block it" i didn't give it as somebody is passing around legimate numbers. It should be against law.
