Re: Optus locked phone not taking any SIM cards - AGAIN!!!!!

Hmm, I've never come across a partially unlocked handset.

The ALDI number was a brand new number given by them? It wasn't ported across from another carrier to ALDI mobile?

Have you tried performing the factory reset?

Ah, you can do it via the settings menu:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select ‘Backup & reset’ and choose factory data reset
  3. Select ‘Reset phone’ and confirm the option ‘Erase everything’
  4. Once done, the phone will restart with default factory settings

Hi dan

Still no luck. Any way of getting rid of the Optus branding or is that not likely to be the issue.

Re: Optus locked phone not taking any SIM cards - AGAIN!!!!!

The Optus branding will remain as is. It's built into the firmware of the device. That shouldn’t be causing any issues.

I'll do a bit of research and get back to you.

Hi dan

Thanks for following this up. Would a full firmware restore help?
