Hi, This is an old query. I had an Optus number and moved overseas in 2016. I had a shared plan at the time. When I moved overseas I phoned Optus and cancelled my plan - I have received confirmation from Optus that I did cancel the account. I had a SIM card in an iPad that was on this plan. Optus cancelled the mobile SIM card and never cancelled the iPad SIM card even though it was all on the same shared plan. I’m going around in circles trying to find out why this was not cancelled the same day the phonecall was made to cancel the account. Can someone help me please?
Why is this an issue now? Have you received a bill? You should be able to contact Optus and they can easily verify no data was used on the SIM over the last few years. The account cancellation should also be on record and and money owed removed.
Failing that just WRITE an official letter. You will get a complaints number and hopefully someone look at the issue properly.

Failing that move to the TIO with your complaint number and they should sort that out for you.
