Spent half day doing number porting from Optus to Vodafone with failure.
I signed up with Optus mobile plan then had a 809xxxxx account number. Then I signed up with Optus broadband and had a 62xxxxx number.
I wanted to port my mobile out of Optus (to Vodafone). Optus kept rejecting the requests.
- When 809xxxxx account number was used, system complained about incorrect DOB while DOB info was correct.
- When 62xxxxx account number was used, system complained about incorrect account number
- When talking to Optus online support, they firmly and confidently told me I should use 62xxxx number (LOL)
